Mechanism of an assimilation Process(fragment)-Anthropophage

~The Paintings of Jeankarlos Cruz

Jeankarlos Cruz, possesses and intellectual understanding of color, almost never seen in a young artist. In his work, that most enticing object for painters, the human face, has receded to invisibility. Form, line, and composition become a universe of drifting colors, which interpenetrate to become magma of complex emotion. No geometry of color is possible in his work. It is imperative that color touch, intermingle, and create new variations and tones, in a manner the viewer can comprehend. When he is at his best, the work provokes meditation on the same deeper levels as great religious art.
